Get started: set up your business and see your first picks

Radar Lab helps you answer one question: which newsletters should my business sponsor next?

To do that, Radar reads thousands of newsletter issues. Every time it sees a sponsor (an ad, a "presented by" message, a paid mention), it writes down who paid, in which newsletter, and on what date. Then it compares those newsletters with your business and suggests the ones that fit you best. These suggestions are called picks.

Set up your business, step by step

1. Sign in with your email. We send you a short one-time code. Type it in and you are in. There is no password to create or remember.
2. Enter your business website. For example, yourcompany.com. Radar visits the site and reads it to learn what you sell and who you sell to.
3. Check your business profile. Radar writes a short description of your business, your customers and your competitors. Read it carefully. If something is wrong or missing, fix it now. This is the most important step.
4. Confirm the profile. Once it looks right, confirm it. This tells Radar to start finding newsletters for you.
5. Wait a few minutes. Radar matches your business against its newsletter library. Your first picks appear on Home. You can look around the app while you wait.

A quick tour of the menu

The menu on the left (or at the top on a phone) takes you to each part of Radar:

• Home: your best newsletter picks, plus recent sponsorships Radar has spotted in your space. Start here every time.
• Discover: search all newsletters, all brands and all past sponsorships in Radar, not just your picks.
• Shortlist: newsletters you saved. Add notes and mark which ones you have contacted.
• Competitors: see where your competitors and similar companies sponsor, and which newsletters they keep going back to.
• Tracking: follow companies and newsletters and see their new sponsorships.
• Updates: what changed for your business since you last looked.
• Reports: PDF market reports you can buy separately.
• Settings: your business profile, account and email choices.

Common questions

How long until I see picks?

Usually a few minutes after you confirm your business profile. If nothing shows after 15 minutes, refresh the page, then message us if it is still empty.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. Every new account starts on the free preview with a 5-day free trial. You only pay if you choose to upgrade.

What if Radar got my business wrong?

Fix it before you confirm it. That is the moment that matters most. With Radar Lab Pro you can also change it any time later from Settings → Business profile.
